Mindset is the word we use to describe our general outlook and attitude. It encompasses our beliefs, habits and frame of mind. The mindset we carry with us to the crag dictates all the big and small decisions we make during a climbing day and how we feel as a consequence of our actions. For example a change in your mindset might be the difference between seeing a fall on a route as a failure versus a step forward in your climbing. A small change in your mindset could be the difference between trying a route that is the right challenge for you and trying one that you won’t learn anything from.
